While most Starbucks locations kept their drive-thru open during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, they’re now offering a sure sign that things are slowly returning to normal: Happy Hour is officially back on Thursday, June 18 from 2-7 p.m.

If you’ve never participated in Starbucks’ Happy Hour, or it’s just been so long you’ve forgotten all about it, the deal gets you a free handcrafted beverage with the purchase of another one.

The deal is valid on grande or larger sizes and excludes hot coffee, hot brewed tea, ready-to-drink beverages and Starbucks Reserve beverages. Other than that, nothing is off-limits, including old favorites and new or seasonal drinks like the S’mores Frappuccino, which just returned to menus for the summer.

To get the deal, just download the Starbucks app. From there, you’ll get a promo code you can show the barista or use when ordering online. Using the app means you can also pay for your order ahead of your visit so that, when it’s time to get your drinks, you simply have to pick them up.

Not sure what to get for your second drink after ordering your favorite? Starbucks also has a brand new drink that offers perfect summer vibes: Iced Guava Passionfruit.

The new drink combines flavors of guava, passionfruit, pineapple and ginger and is shaken up with coconut milk and ice, making it smooth and creamy. Even better? It’s pink!

The drink also joins the list of non-dairy and customizable beverages on Starbucks’ permanent menu.

Along with announcing the return of Happy Hour, Starbucks says they will also be increasing the convenience-led formats in their stores, including curbside, drive-thru and walk-up windows in some locations where they are not already in place.

The coffee chain will also renovate select store layouts, adding a separate counter for mobile orders at high-volume stores, which should make it easier for customers to pick up their orders.
