More than one million people attended the Denver Broncos Super Bowl victory parade and rally in downtown Denver.
To kick off the parade, Denver mayor Michael Hancock and Colorado governor John Hickenlooper proclaimed February 9, 2016 as Pat Bowen Day.
It's the first city and state joint proclamation.
Hancock and Hickenlooper said the proclamation is to, "Thank Pat Bowlen and his incredible family for everything they have done for the city, state and the nation."
They said the Bowlen's "give us something about to cheer for on every game day and united us in orange."
Bowlen's wife Annabel said "our team, the Denver Broncos, played an absolutely, perfect game" and yelled, "Go Broncos."
Back in the late 1990s, then Broncos quarterback John Elway got to see 650,000 fans in this same spot after the Broncos won back-to-back Super Bowls. Now as the general manager of the team, he thinks there were even more people there today.
"It’s great to see Broncos country continuing to grow, because I think more than 650,000 people here," Elway said.
"We want to thank everybody in Broncos country for everything that you’ve done this year.
"The continued support is always needed and always wanted," Elway said.
"This team came back from a lot of different adversities this year," Elway said. "Being underdogs the last two weeks, against New England and going into super bowl 50 as an underdog, just added to that.
"These players and coaches they just answered that bell and played the best football game two days ago," Elway said.
The man who worked as Elway's backup quarterback in the 1990s, and is now the Broncos head coach said he's just proud.
"I’m so proud to be a part of this organization, but even more so, so proud of the greatest NFL fans there are," Kubiak said. "This is my football home, this is where I got my start as a player and coach."
"To be on that bus today, driving through that parade, makes it worth the wait, it was special," Kubiak said.
"It took everybody on this stage, every guy on this football team contributed to our cause," Kubiak said. "Nobody played harder in the National Football League than the Denver Broncos."
Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller got a rousing M-V-P cheer before he spoke Tuesday. But he didn't want to take credit.
"That is great, but I didn't get here by myself, Miller said. "I got great teammates -- T.J., Aqib, Kayvon -- all these guys who helped me get to the point where I am at today."
"Both weeks leads leading up to Super Bowl week we had great energy. We were so sure of our game plan, we were so sure of ourselves, we came into the game with confidence and energy and came out with the win," Miller said.
When asked if the Broncos can do it again, Miller said, "Back to back, right?"
Miller's mentor, DeMarcus Ware, said, "There’s no place like Broncos country, this right here is amazing."
Ware and Peyton Manning both raved about their great teammates.
"We got great teammates, we have a great locker room," Manning said. "Certainly was a great finish."
"Guys want to win for each other, I think that was evident all season long," Manning said. "Everyone contributed.
All 53 guys on the roster played a huge role in this season."
