With all the talk about Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning's comeback after injury this season and the speculation he might retire, some fans feel like backup quarterback Brock Osweiler isn't getting enough credit for the games he played this season.

However, Manning, head coach Gary Kubiak and Broncos' general manager John Elway, have lots of praise for Osweiler.

"Brock Osweiler did a great job," Manning said this week in the San Francisco Bay Area. "We would not be here without the job that he did in the six games that he played in."

"I think he [Brock] deserves a great deal of credit," Kubiak said. "We won some big games with him."

Kubaik hasn't forgotten that Osweiler brought the team back from behind more than once.

"We come back 14 down against Cincinnati, 14 down against New England and Brock was at the helm," Kubiak said. "He definitely did his part. He did a hell of a job when he was in there."

Osweiler didn't think of it as stepping in for a future Hall-of-Fame quarterback.

"I didn’t think about it as, ‘Hey, I’m stepping in for Peyton Manning right now,'" Oweiler explained. "I was solely focused on doing my job to the best of my abilities to give my team a chance to win."

His teammates agree.

"I think he deserves all of the credit for every game that he played," Demaryius Thomas said. "He came in as a leader, stepped up, made plays that no one expected him to make, everybody welcomed him in and then he came and did a great job."

"We wouldn’t be here without Brock and we wouldn’t be here without Peyton," Elway said of his two quarterbacks this season. "It’s been a great combination of both.”

"I’m just thankful and happy that when my number was called this season that I was able to step in and just help my team win some football games," Osweiler said.
