The Denver Board of Ethics will review plans for the city to fund Mayor Michael Hancock's family trip to watch the Broncos play in the Super Bowl.
The Denver Post reports that the board will meet Friday to discuss Hancock's use of city funds to pay for his airfare, lodging and meals as well as costs for two staffers and two security officers. A mayor spokeswoman says Hancock's wife and daughter have purchased airfare by themselves and will stay in the mayor's hotel room.
The Broncos have provided tickets for the mayor's group to attend Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers in Santa Clara, California.
Hancock's communications director, Amber Miller, says the use of city money is appropriate because the trip is in line with the mayor's duties.
