"He wasn't invited," said Danny Chi, the spokesman for the ESPN-owned Winter X Games.
The absence of the two-time Olympic gold medalist with 23 X Games medals — 15 of them gold, the most in X Games history — over 16 years of Winter X Games appearances has become glaring.
White scored a perfect 100 in the X Games halfpipe in 2012 and won again in 2013, marking his eighth X Games halfpipe gold.
X Games organizers said they would not discuss their invitation process.
