DENVER – There was a flurry of postseason activity Monday for the Colorado Rockies, who likely saw the end of terms with two major players, and who also saw their manager nominated for a top coaching award.

Manager Bud Black was named a finalist for Manager of the Year after he led to Rockies to a playoff appearance.

The Rockies also made a $17.4 million qualifying offer to closer Greg Holland Monday, a day after he became a free agent when he turned down a 2018 player option.

Holland, however, is expected to decline the offer and remain a free agent, though the Rockies could still pursue him again in free agency.

The Rockies did not make a qualifying offer to outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, which means he will become a free agent.

Also, in somewhat of a surprise, Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado did not make the list of MVP finalist, which was left to Paul Goldschmidt, Giancarlo Stanton and Joey Votto.
