DENVER -- Colorado swimmer Missy Franklin came home from the Rio Olympics to hundreds of supportive messages.

The messages were written on pink hearts placed on her lawn and signs hung up on her garage.

Franklin wrote on Twitter, "I am beyond blown away by this love and compassion. I have the best community in the world around me! THANK YOU."

Franklin won one gold medal at the Rio Olympics as a member of the 4x200 relay team. She finished 13th in the 200-meter freestyle and 14th in the 200-meter backstroke.

After one loss, Franklin wrote on Twitter, "So heartbroken by my results from last night. Doing everything I can to keep my head up and keep fighting with all I have."

Franklin won four gold medals and a bronze medal in the 2012 Olympics Games in London.

Franklin graduated from Regis Jesuit High School. She has a book coming out in December called Relentless Spirit.
