Martin Truex Jr. narrowly missed a Daytona 500 victory Sunday. The Furniture Row Racing competitor took second place in what was the closest race in NASCAR history.

Truex needlessly apologized to Denver in a blog for The Denver Post and said he's proud of his team's effort.

Truex wrote he rather lose by a few feet than a few inches and he'll relieve the Daytona 500 for the rest of his life. Still, he thanks the crew and all of his supporters.
