Shortly after learning how to walk, Colorado native Sean Thomas learned to ride.

The Firestone resident got his start on a little dirt bike when he was just 4 years old.

Thomas is now 13, and a champion motorcycle road racer.

"I feel like to be able to do this at a young age and still have more area to explore when I'm older that's really awesome," said Thomas.

It is believed Thomas, who received his road racing license two months after his 12th birthday is the youngest in Colorado to earn a road racing license.

"The age doesn't really intimidate me because I know I have a lot of it or similar experience to a lot of these guys."

Last racing season the 13 year old entered 10 races from Colorado to Utah, winning the Production 500 class in and finishing runner-up in the Lightweight Twins class on the Utah Sport Bike Association circuit all while maintaining a 3.5 GPA at Coal Ridge Middle School.
