DENVER -- Imagine booting a football through the field goal posts. Now imagine getting paid to do it. CSU and CU students will get that opportunity, and they're not getting drafted to the NFL.
On Friday, when the two schools face off in the Rocky Mountain Showdown, four students (two from each university) will get the chance to win $5,000 in tuition.
UCHealth sponsors the kicking competition, selecting four students randomly after they entered a drawing on their school's individual homepages.
The lucky students will kick during the break between the third and fourth quarters.
Each student who kicks a successful 20-yard field goal will have a $5,000 credit applied to his or her bill.
The Rocky Mountain Showdown is a highly anticipated college football event that will be televised nationally by ESPN starting at 6 p.m.
