DENVER – It’s time to bust out your purple once again, Broncos fans! The team’s annual Alzheimer’s Awareness Day is set for Sunday.
The Broncos ask all fans who attend Sunday’s training camp session at UCHealth Training Center in Englewood to wear purple in support of Alzheimer’s awareness.
The team will be matching all monetary donations to the Alzheimer’s Association made during Sunday’s session or online. People can click here to donate.
All fan donations will go toward the team’s “Broncos Country” Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, which will participate in the 30th annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Sept. 14.
The Broncos raised more than $40,000 at last year’s Alzheimer’s Awareness Day.
The team and Alzheimer’s Association Colorado Chapter will be giving fans purple rally towels, bracelets and foam fingers at a tent at training camp.
Longtime team owner Pat Bowlen passed away in June after a long fight with Alzheimer’s, and his wife, Annabel Bowlen, was diagnosed with the disease last June. “Team Super Bowlen” has raised nearly $500,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association since 2014.
