DENVER -- Just when you thought the first half could not get any worse.

Struggling Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian left late in the second quarter with a left shoulder injury. He appeared to hurt it when trying to tackle New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins on his 43-yard interception return for a touchdown.

It symbolized an ugly first half, and brought renewed concern about Siemian. He was in pain as he headed through the tunnel, giving way to Brock Osweiler for the final possession of the second quarter. Siemian dealt with three injuries last season -- a bruised right shoulder, sprained AC joint in left shoulder and a foot problem. The left shoulder issue, created by a hard sack at Tampa Bay, admittedly dogged him for 10 weeks and led to elective offseason surgery. Siemian was expected to return.

He completed 11 of 23 passes for 148 yards and two interceptions in the first half. Osweiler went 2-for-4 on his lone second quarter drive as the fans booed the Broncos off the field trailing 17-3 to the winless Giants.
