We finally know who the Denver Broncos will play during the 2016 regular football season, which is just four months away -- and Week 1 will turn out to be a great way to begin the chase for the championship.

The Broncos open the season at home on Thursday night football against the Panthers in a Super Bowl 50 rematch.

"I think it’s a great schedule for our fans. If you look at the home schedule, there are a lot of great football teams coming in. The bye week falls well for us—late in the year. We have kind of a semi-bye when we have San Diego on Thursday night (Week 6). We have Houston on the following Monday night, so we have a break there. I think it’s a good schedule," said John Elway, executive vice president of football operations and general manager for the Denver Broncos. "The bottom line is you have to play them as they come anyway. It’s always nice to have it out though to see what the upcoming year looks like."

When asked about quarterback Brock Osweiler and Houston visiting Denver in Week 7 on Monday Night Football, Elway said:

“It will be nice to have Brock come back here. They are a good football team. They are going to be a team that’s going to compete for the AFC. With Indy coming in, New England coming in, Carolina coming in and Houston coming in—we have a lot of top-notch teams coming in.”

What about playing on five primetime games? Elway said:

“We’ve had that the last couple years, so it’s nice to have that again. One of the unique things about it is we play every divisional team on the road at night. That’s interesting. It’s nice to get some exposure. I think our guys like that. Coming off the World Championship, it’s nice to have.”
