The Broncos suffered a devastating loss to the Raiders. Heres' what they had to say:
Coach Kubiak:
“We had many, many chances to get it done. We didn’t get it done.”
“I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but the plan is we are moving forward. We had some good days last week, working out, doing some drill work. I don’t want to get ahead of myself here.” (Speaking about Peyton’s return)
“It’s disappointing because we needed to get this done. We’re beat up. We played well enough, especially in the first half to control the football game, and we didn’t control it, and that’s what happens in this league.”
“It was obvious the line of scrimmage was won by them. They did a hell of a job.”
Brock Osweiler:
“I’m not discouraged by the drops at all. At the end of the day we’re a team. You can’t point the finger at anybody.”
“Whether you have a good play before or a bad one, it’s behind you and you have to move forward and that’s what we did all night.”
“It’s hard to do but sometimes you have to give credit to the opposing team when credit is due and (Khalil) Mack played a phenomenal football game.”
“The biggest thing is, as an offense, it all starts and it stops with me. I have to find a way to get our offense into the end zone and score touchdowns. Any time the defense holds the team to 15 points, I believe you should win the football game. As a quarterback, and I’ll take full responsibility for it, but it’s your job to not kick filed goals and score touchdowns in the red zone.”
“I told him ‘next play.’ I told him, “Play the next play. That one’s over. I’m going to come right back to you and you’re going to make a big play down the stretch.’ I said, ‘Focus on the next play because that’s all that matters.’” (On consoling Demaryius Thomas)
“When you look at the grand scheme of things tonight I think it boils down to me.”
“Having Peyton’s eyes out there and talking to him in between each series was a huge help.”
Vernon Davis on dropping pass:
"I got super excited because I knew I was going to be wide open, took my eyes off the ball and wasn't able to pull it in.”
Chris Harris:
"I am hot. We are not supposed to lose that game. We played terrible in second half. We've got to be smarter. We just gave them the game."
