The Denver Broncos will face off against the New England Patriots Sunday, but some players and journalists have already started the trash talk.
"I've never seen any quarterback look to the referee right after he gets sacked more than Brady," Broncos defensive end Antonio Smith told reporters Monday, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. "Every time he gets sacked, he looks at the ref like, 'You see him sack me? Was that supposed to happen? He did it a little hard. Please throw a 15-yard penalty on him. Get him fined.'"
Broncos' linebacker Malik Jackson was interviewed on PFT live. NBC Sports said Jackson echoed the comments from Smith regarding Brady and his "crybaby" tendencies after being hit.
"I mean when we played him he definitely threw some temper tantrums," Jackson said. "Definitely one of those whiners that whines but it’s a competitive game. I know I wouldn’t be whining like that, but some people do. So he’s definitely a whiner but he’s actually a big time player, competitor, too."
The New York Post and Daily News jumped on the quotes, putting Brady on their cover.
The New York Post headline read, "Bronco DE rips Brady for whining after getting hit. Tom Baby!"
The Daily News headline read, "CryBrady, Broncos' defender says Pat's QB is just a big whiner with refs."
Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning was asked about playing Brady several times after the Broncos win on Sunday. Manning said he would address that on Wednesday.
