Bolden on IR, Nixon signed from practice squad

Posted

The Denver Broncos have put safety Omar Bolden on injured reserve, officially ending his season.

Bolden left Sunday's game with a knee injury. An MRI Monday showed Grade 2 posterior cruciate ligament sprain that will not require surgery, but will keep him out of the rest of the postseason.

Bolden finished the season as the Broncos’ leading punt returner (5-123, 24.6 avg., 1 TD) and kickoff returner (15-342, 22.8 avg.), the team said.

To replace Bolden on the roster, the Broncos said the team signed cornerback Taurean Nixon from the practice squad.

Nixon (5-10, 187 pounds) is a rookie from Tulane University. He was drafted in the 7th round, 251st overall, in the 2015 NFL Draft. He competed on the Broncos’ practice squad this season.
