DENVER -- The Dallas Police Department concluded Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib shot himself last June, but will not file charges, according to WFAA-TV in Dallas.

According to reporter Rebecca Lopez, the Dallas PD completed their investigation of the June 5 incident and determined Talib shot himself in the right leg. Talib declined to discuss the situation when asked multiple times during training camp because it was an ongoing investigation. Lopez reported over the summer the Broncos star told police, "Everything was a blur, and I was too intoxicated to remember what happened."

The issue now becomes whether Talib will face league discipline. Commissioner Roger Goodell can suspend a player without charges if he deems the personal conduct policy was violated. The league was believed to be waiting for resolution from the Dallas PD before moving forward.

The Broncos told Denver7 on Tuesday night that they had no comment on the WFAA report.

Talib was hospitalized after suffering a gunshot wound to his right thigh and right calf in the early morning hours of June 5. According to a police report, offers responded to a report of a shooting victim at Medical City Dallas Hospital. The victim told police he was shot nearby, and detectives began an investigation to determine whether it was related to a shooting at the V Live strip club.

"It was scary as [expletive]," Talib told NFL.com on Sept. 18. "I mean, I really don't want to talk about that part, but there was a time when I was riding to the hospital, and I didn't know what was wrong with me. I didn't know how long I was going to be out. I didn't know if I was going to walk again. I didn't know anything."

Temporarily on crutches, Talib missed the Broncos' offseason workouts, but no surgery was required. He returned for the team's third preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. Talib has been among the team's most valuable players this season. He leads the team with three interceptions. He has been named co-defensive player of the game twice: for a pick six against Indianapolis and his two interceptions in last Sunday's 27-7 win over Tampa Bay.

Prior to the Broncos' season opener against the Carolina Panthers, general manager John Elway said he had "nothing from the league" regarding any discipline of Talib.
