Broncos' Demaryius Thomas headed to Pro Bowl as replacement for Antonio Brown

Posted

DENVER -- A deep-sixed season before desired has led to six deep at the Pro Bowl.

Receiver Demaryius Thomas joins five teammates in Orlando this Sunday as an injury replacement for Steelers receiver Antonio Brown.

Thomas finished his seventh season with 90 receptions for 1,083 yards. He battled through an early-season hip injury and improved as the year advanced. Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are the seventh pair of NFL receivers to post 1,000 yards in three straight seasons.

Thomas, Sanders and safety Darian Stewart made the game as alternates. They join outside linebacker Von Miller and cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Chris Harris.

The Broncos didn't participate last season as they headed to Super Bowl 50 at this time a year ago.
