Friday, former Broncos star outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware made his training camp debut as a coach. He walked out of the locker room, proclaimed, "We're going to get it now!" then jogged onto the field.
He represents a welcome sight for players and fans -- who packed UC Health Training Center -- alike this summer. As the Broncos attempt to re-establish a winning culture following back-to-back playoff absences, Ware brings credibility and insight.
He will work as a part-time pass rush consultant. Ware served as Von Miller's mentor years ago, steering the former first-round pick to reach his potential. The two played their best down the stretch in the Super Bowl 50 run. Miller credits Ware for accelerating his development. Fifth overall pick Bradley Chubb stands next in line.

"Von has said, 'This was for you,'^" Chubb said. "He has so much knowledge."
The Broncos' outside linebacker group represents the most talented position on the team. They are planning to use packages with four on the floor in the NASCAR package with Miller, Shane Ray, Chubb and Shaquil Barrett. The Broncos need more production for the edge. Denver finished with 33 sacks last year, 19 fewer than their Super Bowl title season.
