CINCINNATI -- As the trainers gathered Sunday, concern mounted.

It was warranted. Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris Jr., one of the Broncos' best players, suffered a fractured right fibula, according to a source.

The uneasy scene unfolded with 4:27 remaining in the first quarter. Harris made a third down stop. As linebacker Todd Davis entered the play to help on the tackle his knee appeared to whip around and hit Harris below his right knee.

Harris eventually rose to his feet, but could not walk to the sideline. He needed help to reach the sidelines, and placed no weight on his lower right leg. Harris underwent X-rays at the stadium. Moments later, the All-Pro cornerback was ruled out.

Harris has started at least 15 games in each of the past five seasons. He is among the best players at his position in the NFL. With Harris out, Isaac Yiadom entered the game. Brendan Langley is next up on the depth chart after the Broncos cut Adam Jones before the Steelers game.

The Broncos also lost linebacker Josey Jewell (ankle) earlier in the game. And defensive lineman Derek Wolfe hurt his ribs in the second quarter.
