Broncos' Aqib Talib, Matt Paradis expected to play, but Marshall's status in doubt against San Diego

CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- The Broncos' injury list began to look like the Dead Sea Scrolls this week. Friday, 12 players dotted the report, including four starters tagged as questionable. Of the latter group, center Matt Paradis and cornerback Aqib Talib remain optimistic they will face the Chargers.

"I am fine," Paradis said after not practicing this week because of a hip ailment. Paradis said he was on the field Friday, though he did not work out. Coach Gary Kubiak believes Paradis can play without practice. A leader on offense, Paradis hasn't missed a snap the past two seasons, a testament to his toughness and emergence as a top lineman at his position in the league.

Talib was limited Friday after not participating for two days. He has no doubt about his status.

"I am good, man," Talib said.

The outlook for linebacker Brandon Marshall is not as promising. He tested his left hamstring on Friday, and is considered a game-time decision. However, San Diego's propensity for matching up their tight ends and running backs on linebackers in the passing game means it would not be a surprise if Marshall is given more time to heal. Corey Nelson projects as the starter if Marshall is inactive or limited.

"They always tell you that you are only one snap away in this league. That's why you put your head in the book and study so that you are ready," Nelson said. "I have been approaching it that way for the last two years because you never know when you will be in there."

As written earlier in separate story, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware remains encouraged with the recovery of his right forearm. He said he planned to talk with coach Gary Kubiak on Friday night to determine his status.
