After a fantastic win over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game, it wasn't only the players who were celebrating the victory out on the field.

"You just had a feeling -- I did, during the week as they kept talking about how the Broncos didn't stand a chance against [Tom] Brady and [Rob] Gronk[owski], and [Julian] Edelman, that this team was taking it in and saying, 'You know what? We're just going to settle it on the field,'" said Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. "I'm proud of our fans and our entire region."

Outside Sports Authority Field at Mile High, fans were ecstatic as the Broncos came out on top with a 20-18 win over the Patriots.

"Every game has been a grind this year and we're going to continue to grind it out to get Super Bowl 50, baby!," said a Broncos fan named Chris who was painted orange from his head to his waist.

"I want to win [Super Bowl 50] by running, I want to win by passing, I want to win by defense!," said another joyful fan, Max.

"It's historic. It's monumental. If you weren't here, you missed out. It was a spectacular game," said Michael, who attended the game with his family.

Broncos fans were confident even before kickoff.

"We're going to beat them and we're going to the Super Bowl," said Broncos super fan, Rob Garner, who goes by Rescue Rob and drives a vintage fire truck to the games painted in Broncos orange and blue. Rescue Rob was featured on Denver7 last week.

"We've been coming down here for a long time," said Chase Boswell. "We support them every chance we get. We've made every home game for the last 11 years. The Broncos earned the right to host this game and that's going to be the difference maker in the end. We will win."

Local law enforcement also weighed in on the big win:

And it wasn't just in Denver. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office also congratulated the Broncos.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations, John Elway, also congratulated the team for their victory against the Patriots.
