How bad are the Broncos injuries right now?

Twenty-one of the 53 players on the active roster were listed on the injury report Wednesday.

Several starters, including CJ Anderson, Omar Bolden, David Bruton, Vernon Davis, Ronnie Hillman, Peyton Manning, Danny Trevathan and TJ Ward were listed as did not participate in the team practice on Wednesday.

Nine other players were listed as being limited in practice on Wednesday -- Andre Caldwell, Owen Daniels, Bennie Fowler, Evan Mathis, Michael Schofield, Darian Stewart, Vance Walker, DeMarcus Ware and Sylvester Williams.

Four other Broncos on the injury report were able to full participate in practice - Ryan Harris, Matt Paradis, Emmanuel Sanders and Louis Vasquez.

After reading the long list on Wednesday, head coach Gary Kubiak said, "A few guys on the list today."

"It was a little extensive last week and it’s gotten a little worse," Kubiak explained later. "I think our guys have done a really good job. First off, they understand where we’re at. I think we know if we’re missing some of these guys exactly where we’re going as we started today in practice. I also think we’ve had some guys do a great job of making their way to Sunday and being able to do it. I’m still hopeful that some of these guys in this list will get there. We’ll see.”

Two Broncos are going through the NFL's concussion protocol - Vernon Davis and Danny Trevathan.

"They’re still both in protocol—day-to-day issues with that. They’re both doing fine today but still in the protocol. I couldn’t tell you what step," Kubiak said.

As for quarterback Peyton Manning, Kubiak said Manning worked out and did some throwing on Wednesday, but the team is taking day by day.

"We’ve got a good little process going on right now. We’ll stick to it throughout the course of the week,” Kubiak said.
