James Webb III scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Boise State past Colorado State 84-80 on Saturday in the Mountain West conference opener for both teams.

Boise State (10-4) led by as many as 16 points in the first half and 11 in the second but watched the Rams whittle their lead down to two points twice during the final forty seconds.

Colorado State (8-6) had two opportunities in the final two minutes to tie or take the lead but turned the ball over once and missed a long jumper on the other possession.

The Broncos won their 16th straight home game although the outcome remained in doubt until Anthony Drimic, who finished with 21 points, hit two free throws with three seconds left to seal the win.

Colorado State was led by Antwan Scott with 24 and Joe De Ciman with 22.
