As the temps are heating up and you are taking longer runs it’s important to remember that hydration is key to training for a successful race.
Skechers Performance GOelite athlete Patrick Rizzo says hydration is extremely important.
Staying hydrated during the day is just as important as staying hydrated when you run (almost more important). Try to drink 8, 8 oz. glasses during the day.
It’s also very important to hydrate after a work-out. The hotter the weather and the harder you work-out the more water you need.
Electrolyte drinks are also an option but not necessary for everyone. If you sweat a lot you may need to replenish with Nuun (pronounced Noon) Hydration.
You will also dehydrate faster at altitude so make sure to be mindful of how you feel
And on race day remember the BolderBOULDERhas plenty of hydration options with aid stations at miles 2, 3, 4 and 5.
