Denver Nuggets point guard Andre Miller was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding warrant related to a traffic violation, police said.

Detective John White said police arrested Miller, 29, at the Denver Sheriff’s car pound, where he went to pick up his stolen vehicle. A records check indicated that Miller had an outstanding warrant issued by the Colorado State Patrol. He was arrested on an Oct. 5 warrant out of Castle Rock for allegedly failing to pay a ticket for speeding.

Miller is also accused of failing to provide proof of insurance, and of having "fictitious" license plates.

Miller was arrested at about 1 p.m. and released at about 4:45 p.m. That was shortly before the Nuggets' game at the Pepsi Center, where the Nuggets lost 99-97 to the Los Angeles Lakers in overtime. Miller scored 11 points.

White said he had no other details. A Nuggets spokesman did not immediately return a call.

Miller is a Los Angeles native who graduated from the University of Utah in 1998.

This is his seventh season in the NBA and third in Denver, after previous stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
