What could be better than a topnotch golf event in a beautiful Colorado setting? The answer is The Clinic Charity Classic, a golf event that offers guests a second to none experience and raises money for a medical research to help those in need.

The seventh annual Clinic Charity Classic golf tournament is set for Aug. 26. The annual golf event is the Clinic’s largest fundraiser for the Colorado-Wyoming chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Clinic’s community and charity partner.

In its seventh year, the Classic is moving to a larger golf course, at the Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton, Colorado. The event, which continues to grow every year, is moving venues to accommodate the large number of players and to offer guests a world-class golf event on a private and legendarily stunning Colorado golf course.

Golf slots for the tournament are booked but there are still spectator tickets available for $50. Spectator tickets include meals, drinks and festivities.

For those who want more than golf, there will be contests, prizes and refreshments throughout the day and a party with a barbecue in the evening, with all funds benefiting the local chapter of the National MS Society.

The Clinic prides itself on providing high quality cannabis to patients and customers and raising national standards for dispensaries. It has six marijuana dispensaries throughout the Denver metro area, four serve both medical and recreational including its newest location at 2020 S. Colorado Blvd. Two stores in Lakewood serve medical patients only.

“By staying at the forefront of cannabis genetics, cultivation techniques and impeccable quality control we are able to provide the best product on the market,” said Ryan Cook, Director of National Operations at The Clinic.

The Clinic’s rigorous cultivation and processing has resulted in more than 50 product awards, more than any other marijuana dispensary in Colorado.

This process is especially important for medical users who take cannabis for healing purposes such as pain management. This focus on helping patients is what makes The Clinic and MS Society a fitting partnership. Medical marijuana has been shown to help with some MS symptoms.

“Cannabis has been show to have a profound effect on MS patients including muscle spasms, speech and eyesight,” Cook continued. “Some of our wheelchair-bound patients have said that they can walk unaided when they take cannabis. That is extremely encouraging and we want to make sure that we are doing all that we can to help our patients and friends. Whether that be product advancements or fundraising efforts to support research.”

Proceeds from the Clinic Charity Classic will help the National MS Society of Colorado-Wyoming continue in its mission to improve life for people affected by MS and raise money for research, with the goal of eradicating the disease.

“The National MS Society is working toward a world free of MS,” according to its website. “People affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever.”

The cause of MS is unknown, something researchers are working toward discovering. People who are genetically predisposed to MS develop it when the disease is triggered by an unidentified environmental factor, according to the National MS Society.

“Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body,” the National MS Society says.

While MS is not necessarily fatal, it decreases life expectancy by an average of seven years because of complications from the disease.

The Clinic would not be able to raise the funds it does for the MS Society without the help of the events generous sponsors which are: WeedMaps, PAX, Way-to-Grow, Shear Solutions, Cheeba Chews, Patients Choice/Live Green, Sensi Magazine, Incredibles, Buddy Boy, O.Pen Vape, MarQaha, Indy Ink, The Hemp Connoisseur, Dope Magazine, LeafBuyer, Sweet Grass, Partner Colorado Credit Union, Batch 64 and WonderLeaf.
