It may be hard to believe that we’re almost at the time of year when parents start the notorious holiday tradition of deploying the Elf on the Shelf to watch over their kids. But, what if you’re not a fan of that little elf? Sure, he’s kind of cute, but maybe elves aren’t your thing.

Some families have looked for other options to countdown the days until Christmas or Hanukkah. There are many ways to honor tradition while changing things up a little. After all, maybe the original elf needs a little break from years of holiday overtime!

One Etsy creator has the perfect twist on this traditional game. Who better to fill in for Santa’s elf on your shelf than Jack Skellington? After all, the star of Disney’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” wants to learn all about the traditions of the winter holiday, right?

Rachel ofRosieBethHolidays on Etsy designed this fun Jack Skellington doll, who is all dressed up in his Sandy Claws costume from the movie.

How adorable is this little guy?

This hand-made doll has a moldable body made with wire limbs so he can easily be seated on a shelf or wherever you might want him placed around the house. In fact, some fans are calling him Jack on a Rack.

She also sells a version of Jack in his classic black suit with a Santa hat atop his skull. Just check out how cute he looks holding a little candy cane!

Jack measures 14 inches tall, so we’re not talking about some tiny figure to get lost among the other decorations on your mantle. He’s available for $30 from Rachel’s Etsy store, but supplies are apparently running low. So grab this Pumpkin King while you can!

If you can’t snag that doll, you could always try your hand at making your own Jack Skellington doll to use as this year’s elf. We found an Etsy shop that’s offering a package of five easy easy crochet patterns that let you create a whole cast of characters from the film, including Jack, Sally, Zero the Dog, Oogie Boogie and the Mayor.

If you’re willing to put in the work, you can have the whole set of patterns for less than $16.

We think it could be pretty fun to have the whole Halloween Town crew on watch around your house this Christmas.
