Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty have welcomed their first child together. The rapper gave birth on September 30 in Los Angeles, TMZ reports. So far, the baby’s name and sex have not been revealed.
Minaj first revealed her pregnancy on July 20, 2020. In an Instagram post that day, she showed off her baby bump along with the simple caption, “Preggers.”
She also tweeted out this photo of herself at @NICKIMINAJ, cradling her bump in a white cutout dress. She captioned it, “The Virgin Mary by David LaChapelle”:

Minaj and Petty were high school sweethearts in Queens, New York. They wed in 2019.
“I didn’t think it would be as refreshing and calming as it is,” she said of her marriage during an appearance on Lil Wayne’s Apple Music series, “Young Money Radio.” “Even if you’re not married, when you have someone that feels like your soul mate or someone who understands you, it just makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.”
Back in 2015, she spoke about her plans for motherhood.
“Ten years from now, I will have two children, unless my husband wants three. I will be into my fitness a lot more. I will stop yo-yo dieting, and I will be a housewife with careers I can run from home. I want to be able to cook for my children, bake cookies for them and watch them grow up,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I just want to be mommy. Take them to school, go to the parent-teacher conference, help them with their homework and put their work on the refrigerator.”
Throughout the years, Minaj has suggested that she will take a “break” from her career to focus on mothering and family, going to far as to announce her intention to retire in a September 2019 tweet.
However, in an interview with “The Shade Room” the following month, shewalked that back a bit and eventually deleted the tweet.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
