UPDATE: 4 major wildfires burning in Colorado Tuesday

There were four major wildfires, and several smaller fires, burning in Colorado on Tuesday.

Here is the latest information:

-- Beaver Creek Fire --

The Beaver Creek Fire, burning north of Walden, grew to 19,464 acres on Tuesday morning.

"In spite of strong winds yesterday, the fire’s footprint has not changed much and no new immediate threats were reported," the Forest Service said. "The fire’s perimeter grew 644 acres according to the infrared mapping flight last night. There was some movement on the northwest and northeast areas of the fire and firefighters observed some single tree and group torching. Yesterday crews were able to begin constructing dozer line and hand line southwest of Parsons Draw in protection of that community. Engine patrols working day and night shift continue along the 600 Road and in Parsons Draw steering the fire away from structures."

The fire is five percent contained. The cause of the fire is still unknown, officials said.

-- Cold Springs Fire --

More than 800 evacuees were allowed to go home at the Cold Springs Fire burning near Nederland, in Boulder County.

The evacuation order was lifted for 67 residents in the Sugarloaf area and for 737 residents in the Magnolia area.

However, more than 1,100 residents still remain under a mandatory evacuation order. They are in the subdivisions east of the Peak-to-Peak Highway, north of Boulder Canyon and south of Sugarloaf Road. See the evacuations map here.

Tuesday morning, officials said active firefighting activity is still going on in the areas near Cold Springs, Ridge Road, and Boulder Canyon Rd. near Barker Reservoir, and those areas remain closed to all traffic.

Officials hope to get 25 percent containment on the fire by Tuesday night.

Investigators believe the fire was started by a campfire. Two people have been arrested on suspicion of arson.

-- Hayden Pass Fire --

The Hayden Pass Fire has doubled in size in the last two days. In an afternoon news conference Tuesday officials said it has burned 12,193 acres and is zero percent contained. 

The fire is burning near Coaldale in Fremont County. Coaldale is between Canon City and Salida.

The fire is relatively close to a lot of homes, officials said during a news conference Tuesday.

"109 homes have been evacuated and all mandatory evacuations are still in place," the Fremont County Sheriff's Office wrote on its Facebook page.

The fire was ignited by lightning on Friday, officials said.

-- Fort Carson Fire -- 

The Fort Carson Fire is burning on the training range located in the southwest area of Fort Carson. The fire had grown to 720 acres by Tuesday morning.

The fire started on the training range and the cause is under investigation. There is no threat to people or homes at this time.

-- Other fires --

The Lodgepole Fire near Leadville at the base of Mount Elbert was 100 percent contained on Monday.

The Spring Gulch Fire burned 11 acres in the Pike National Forest, three miles south of Deckers, in Douglas County, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. No homes or buildings are at risk, officials said.

The LTE 4 Mile Fire is burning eight miles southeast of Rangely, on the Western Slope. The fire had burned about 415 acres as of the last report.
