GRAND COUNTY, Colo. — The Big Horn Park area was under a mandatory evacuation Wednesday afternoon due to a new wildfire in Grand County.

The East Troublesome Fire broke out Wednesday morning about 1.9 miles east of Big Horn Park. The fire was at 10 acres Wednesday afternoon, according to Grand County Emergency Management. It had grown to 400 acres by 7 p.m.

Evacuated residents were asked to take an overnight bag with necessary items and drive to the Kremmling Fairgrounds, so officials can account for residents. The sheriff's office said in an update at around 6:40 p.m. that it would be allowing residents of Big Horn Park to come and go until 10 p.m. After this time, the sheriff’s office will have a hard closure and no one will be allowed into Big Horn Park.

More information was not yet available on the fire early Wednesday evening. Go here for updates.
