CLIFTON, Colo. – Deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office say it’s “too early to say” how a teenager died after a body was found inside a Clifton home Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies went to the Midlands Village Mobile Home Park, located at 435 32 Road, on reports of a teenager found unresponsive inside one of the homes. When they got to the scene, deputies found the body of the teen, according to Mesa County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Megan Terlecky.

Investigators released very few details about the death, only classifying the case as a death investigation.

“It’s too early to say what the manner of death is at this point,” Terlecky told the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel. “We don’t know if it’s a homicide or a suicide. It’s probably going to be a little while before we determine that.”

Terlecky told the newspaper she didn’t know if the teen died at their own home or if anyone else was inside the home at the time of the death.
