Police say a Colorado woman found dead in Vienna, Austria this week died from suffocation.

Lauren Mann, 25, of Paonia, was living in Vienna and was working as a nanny for a local family.

She was found dead in a pool of blood on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in her apartment, according to Vienna police. Her body was half-undressed, according to Thomas Keiblinger, a Vienna police spokesperson.

Thursday, the city's prosecutor Nina Bussek toldABC News that Mann had suffocated. Investigators have not yet determined if someone else was involved in her death.

Keiblinger told ABC News that the preliminary autopsy showed no external wounds on her body.

A forensics team initially had trouble examining the scene because all the light bulbs in her apartment had burnt out and had to be replaced with the help of a ladder, Keiblinger said.

Keiblinger said investigators are awaiting the results of toxicological tests over the next few days.

Mann had been studying and working in Vienna for about three years. She graduated in 2012 from the University of Colorado-Boulder's College of Music.
