MESA COUNTY, Colo. -- Deputies on Thursday morning captured two of the three men wanted in a shooting on the Western Slope.
The Mesa County Sheriff's Office said three people were hurt in the shooting that happened just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday in Molina, about 30 miles east of Grand Junction.
"The victims went to two different locations to call for help, one in Molina, and one in Collbran," deputies said, adding the victims had non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators released a photo of one of the suspects. Deputies said Trevaun Jzhonta Faison, 23, was last seen in the Molina and Collbran area on foot late Wednesday night wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black and white basketball style shoes.
Faison is a black man who is 6-foot-1 and weighs 170 pounds.
Deputies said he was possibly with two other men.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday morning two suspects were captured around 9:30 a.m., though it did not specify who was in custody.
The sheriff’s office said the two were captured in mountainous terrain near Highway 65 and I-70, close to the Roller Dam. Eastbound I-70 was closed during the suspects’ capture.
Investigators said Wednesday the suspects were considered armed and dangerous.
"There is a possibility they will try to steal a car or hide out in a local neighborhood, that is why we are asking the public to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious," officials said. "If you see them call 911, do not approach [them]."
