A woman's body was sitting in a car in a Walmart parking lot for three months before anyone found it.
Authorities in California identified the woman as 22-year-old Lauren Jessie Moss.
Moss was last seen at a rehab center in Seaside in November 2015 and had been reported missing.
An employee of the Walmart store in Salinas apparently noticed that the silver Volkswagen Jetta had been parked in the same spot for several days and called police.
Police believe that Moss' body went undiscovered for so long because the car had tinted windows and a sunshade on the dashboard.
Moss' sister told KSBW that she had left a suicide note in the car. Authorities said they also found paraphernalia associated with drug use in the car.
