CHESTERFIELD, Mich. -- While some professional athletes are refusing to stand for the national anthem in protest of racial injustice, a Michigan mother wants to set an example for those wanting to protest in kind with a touching video uploaded to Facebook.

Rebecca Domzalski, of Chesterfield, Mich., shared the video Monday. In it, you can see Logan, 9, trying to stand up as the national anthem is playing off-camera.

The reason why Logan has such a hard time standing up? He has cerebral palsy and can't walk.

"Even my 9 year old with CP (who can't walk) knows you're supposed to stand up during the national anthem...He loves it!" Domzalski wrote on Facebook.

In the video, you can see Logan trying his best to stand up from a couch as the national anthem plays off-screen. At one point, he tries to also put his left palm on the right-side of his chest.

"Logan, are you supposed to stand up during the national anthem?," asks his mom from behind-the-camera. Logan nods in agreement.

The video comes in the midst of the continued national debate of the relationship between police and the black community, once again thrown into the spotlight when Colin Kaepernick, quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, refused to stand for the national anthem and instead, chose to kneel in silent protest.

“In my opinion, I believe they are not only disrespecting their own country, a country that affords them the right to do what they did, but also disrespecting all the people who fight for this country," Domzaski told Breitbart. "I do not disagree with their reasons for doing what they did, I disagree with the actions they took.”
