"My child was perfect," that's the message a mother has sent the doctor who suggested she get an abortion.
Courtney Baker said she went to a prenatal specialist "during the most difficult time in my life."
"I was terrified, anxious and in complete despair," Baker wrote. "I didn’t know the truth yet about my baby, and that’s what I desperately needed from you."
The doctor told Baker her child had Down Syndrome.
"Instead of support and encouragement, you suggested we terminate our child," Baker wrote.
Baker said the doctor actually suggested it several times.
More than a year after the birth of Emersyn Faith, Baker has written the doctor a letter to tell him that, "Emmy is proof that children with special needs are worthy and can change the world. She’s doing it right now.”
