DENVER – A more than 100-year-old palm tree inside the now-closed Govnr’s Park Tavern has found a new home after it was briefly being offered for free on Craigslist earlier Wednesday.
The 25-foot kobelini palm tree, which has called the tavern home for over 30 years, had been sitting on the property ever since the restaurant closed on Nov. 11 of this year.
It’s unclear where the 142-year-old palm tree is going next, but a mortgage consultant who was in charge of the initial offering said “the tree has found a home” in a Facebook post just before 4 p.m.
The palm tree was initially offered to the Denver Botanic Gardens, but they declined as they already have of those palm trees in their premises.
