BASALT, Colo. -- Investigators say someone shot at officers with a pellet gun while they were responding to a call.
The Aspen Times reports that Basalt Town Manager Mike Scanlon says the Tuesday night incident might not have garnered much attention a week ago but was much more concerning after the fatal shooting of five police officers in Dallas.
Basalt Police Sgt. Aaron Munch says two officers were responding to a call about BB gun shots when about eight to 12 shots were fired at them.
Sgt. Joe Gasper says they searched the area but couldn't find the shooter. Officers returned to the scene during daylight and found at least 16 pellets from a pellet gun in the side of a multi-unit complex.
The shooter hasn't been found.
