A judge plans to move the re-trial of a man accused of killing his wife in Grand Junction over a decade ago to the Front Range.

The Daily Sentinel reports that Chief Judge David Bottger told lawyers Thursday that he would start the process of looking for a new venue for Michael Blagg's trial now that prosecutors have mostly withdrawn their objections.

Prosecutors say they won't challenge the case being moved as long as it ends up in Jefferson, Adams, Arapahoe, Denver or El Paso counties.

Blagg was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison for the 2001 shooting death of his wife, Jennifer Blagg. He won a new trial after a judge determined that a juror concealed her experience with domestic violence.

The Blagg's 6-year-old daughter, Abby, disappeared at the same time as her mother and is presumed dead. No charges were filed in her disappearance.  Jennifer Blagg's body was found in a Mesa County landfill.
