BACA COUNTY — Members of Colorado Parks and Wildlife in Baca County spent the week searching for a Broomfield man reported missing while camping at Two Buttes Reservoir State Wildlife Area.

On Thursday afternoon, CPW announced the body of Eben Bartholomew was recovered in a pond below the dam.

The Baca County Sheriff's Office, volunteer firefighters, and a CPW team from Denver made up the estimated 30 people taking part in the search in the first days. They were soon joined by dozens of volunteers comprised of friends and family.

CPW says Eben Bartholomew's friends reported last seeing him midnight Sunday. According to CPW, the friends said a large group was swimming in a pond below the dam and were cliff jumping. Friends say that they were not swimming and cliff jumping later that night, and it was only during the day.

The wildlife area, located northeast of Springfield, is comprised of 8,533 acres. Searchers will use a drone, a boat with sonar and CPW's Marine Evidence Recovery Team in their efforts to search the land and water.
