A mother and father were arrested after three children were hospitalized.
The first child, a seven-year-old, was taken to the hospital last month with serious injuries, according to Pueblo police.
"Based on the initial investigation, patrol officers were able to locate and arrest the child’s mother, Colleen Monique Torres (25), for one count of Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury," police said.
Investigators said the Special Victims Section took over the investigation and found two siblings of the victim, one an infant and one who was two years old. Both of those children were also hospitalized.
Police said the victim's father, 35-year-old Russel L. Griffith, was arrested Monday for Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
Police did not release information on the investigation until the father was arrested.
