SAGUACHE COUNTY, Colo. – A man in Saguache County is facing several charges after allegedly pointing a gun at deputies during a confrontation over the weekend.

Jason Ingalsbe, 45, was booked into the Saguache County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree assault and felony menacing after reportedly pointing a handgun at deputies and a Colorado State Patrol trooper.

The altercation began when the deputies and the trooper showed up to the home on 62301 County Road EE on reports of a man with a gun inside a home at around 9 a.m. Sunday.

Ingalsbe allegedly began yelling and pointed the weapon at responding officers.

Two Saguache County Sheriff’s Office deputies then fired at Ingalsbe, possibly wounding him, deputies said in a news release.

He was taken to the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound.

Ingalsbe is being held on a $75,000 bond.

The two deputies involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave per department policy. Their names were not released.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is leading an investigation into this officer-involved shooting.
