A preliminary autopsy has confirmed that three girls drowned accidentally in a Pueblo swimming pool this week. But authorities have yet to determine how it happened.

Three-year-old Azucena Gandarilla, her 6-year-old sister Amaya, and their 17-year-old baby sitter, Joo Hyun Lee, drowned Monday in a swimming pool at a Pueblo mobile home complex.

Officers and others tried to revive the victims, but despite their efforts, all three girls died.

Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter attributed the deaths to "freshwater drowning" and said that all were accidents. Cotter said no signs of trauma were found.

The pool ranges from two to eight feet deep, and there are signs warning people to swim at their own risk, according toKVOR radio.

Police say their investigation continues.
