There is a reason Colorado lawmakers introduce the same bills every year.

Metropolitan State University of Denver Political Science Professor Robert Preuhs says one of the biggest reasons is so the parties can distinguish their platforms from each other ahead of next November elections.

On this week’s Politics Unplugged with Anne Trujillo and Marshall Zelinger, Dr. Preuhs discussed what types of bills we can expect to see killed before they get to the governor’s desk and what bills actually have a chance of becoming law.

Preuhs also talked about what voters need to watch for in this year’s U.S. Senate race. Right now, there are seven Republican candidates hoping to unseat Democratic incumbent Michael Bennet.
