DENVER -- Hillary Clinton is leading Donald Trump by six percentage points in a new Colorado poll released Thursday, just five days away from the Nov. 8 General Election.
The poll, released by Magellan Strategies, shows Clinton at an advantage with 44 percent of respondents viewing her as the preferred presidential candidate. Trump comes second at 38 percent with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson coming in at third place with 7 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein coming in dead last at 2 percent.
The newest poll comes just a day after a DU poll found both Clinton and Trump were tied at 39 percent during the final week before Election Day.
Campaign volunteers from both parties are bracing for Nov. 8, and are actively campaigning with door-to-door visits and by making phone calls, urging people to get out and vote.
As of Thursday evening, Republicans now sit just more than 14,000 votes behind registered Democrats in the state. A total of 1.4 million ballots have already been submitted, according to the Secretary of State's Office.
