DENVER – Hundreds of people showed up to the Colorado State Capitol Saturday to show support for President Donald Trump and his administration.
Billed as the “Spirit of America” rally, demonstrators – many wearing the iconic “Make America Great Again” red cap -- gathered at the west steps of the State Capitol at around 10 a.m.
Holding U.S. flags and dressed in patriotic attire, demonstrators brought out signs – both small and large -- supporting the embattled president.
“Women for Trump,” “Hollywood values are not ours,” and "Trump is the resistance" were just some of the messages that could be seen Saturday morning.

“Let's support our President and stop the hate!” said an event organizer on Facebook. “Please join us in this effort to unite the citizens of this great country.”
The group reportedly sang “God Bless America” and chanted “USA! USA! USA!” as well as “drain the swamp” according to a Denver Post reporter at the scene.
Their chants were met by another type of message coming from anti-Trump protesters -- estimated to be about 100 people.
“No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA!” chanted dozens in discontent of the sitting president.

The local rally, which saw between 300 to 500 supporters -- according to estimates provided by the Colorado State Patrol -- was just one of many happening across the nation.
Late Saturday afternoon, Cindi Turchik, an organizer for events held in Colorado sent the following statement to Denver7:
Our Nationwide March4 Trump was held in 66 cities and 45 states today. We wanted our President to know that we support him 100% and we know he's working smart and hard for us. We are behind him all the way with changes he wants to make. He is keeping his campaign promises and we find this remarkable and refreshing from a historical perspective.
As the leader of the event in Colorado I am pleased with our turnout today. Estimated to be 800 to 1100 Trump Supporters.
Minnesota, Florida, Missouri and Texas are just a few of the states participating, the Facebook event page noted.
