DENVER -- Denver mayoral challenger Jamie Giellis dug into Michael Hancock during a debate Tuesday night over his record on addressing climate change, responding to fast development, dealing with homelessness and managing city projects.
For every shortcoming she cited, the two-term incumbent hit right back — and added his own lines of attack, as he attempted to portray his opponent as ill-equipped for the job.
But at bottom, the two differed most starkly during the Denver Post debate in their appraisals of the city Denver has become after a decade of whiplash-inducing change. It has brought more jobs and more people, along with higher costs of living and other challenges.
