DENVER -- Colorado’s Neil Gorsuch is now the ninth U.S. Supreme Court justice, and he will immediately be thrown into several high-profile cases in which he could cast the deciding vote.
“I think this is part of what the election was about,” KNUS's Krista Kafer told Nicole Brady during this week’s Politics Unplugged. “I knew a lot of folks who supported Trump simply for this Supreme Court nominee, so we got a good nominee.”
Gorsuch fills the vacancy left on the court after Justice Antonin Scalia died unexpectedly in February 2016.
Kafer says she thinks even Democrats may be surprised by the thoughtfulness Justice Gorsuch gives his decisions.
“I think there is a kind of thoughtfulness that westerners bring to the table. You don’t have the east coast mentality,” she said when discussing what the judge will bring to the bench. “I think it’s nice to have someone from Colorado, someone who has an even keel. I think he’s going to be fantastic.”
