DENVER — A Denver cleaning company is seeing an increase in business amidst a concern with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Inside of a home near Denver's City Park, cleaning crews are busy at work.
Owner of Alpine Maids, Chris Willatt, says they've been getting an increased amount of calls for them to come out to people's homes and offices to disinfect.
"We've been planning this for about two weeks now," Willatt said. "It's a 51-point disinfection clean. We're hitting all touchpoints, like light switches, doorknobs, faucets, knick-knacks, counters, and we're even going down to floors."
Max Piland has been a customer of Alpine Maids for several years. He says it puts him at ease to know that they are also going through and disinfecting his home.
"The way that I kind of look at it is that every little bit helps," Piland said.
The Center for Disease Control also recommends focusing on those things that are touched most often.
If someone in the home is suspected or confirmed to have the coronavirus, the CDC says cleaning should be reduced to as-needed to avoid unnecessary contact.
Willatt says providing customers the disinfection service is also their way of making sure their clients and staff are safe.
"I think that people don't want to feel afraid to be in their homes and afraid to go to work," Willatt said. "They want to feel safe and know that something has been done to protect them."
